Air emergency in Delhi-NCR, schools shut till Friday

Air quality in Delhi-NCR plunged deeper into the “severe” zone on Wednesday, staying in the worst category on the AQI scale for the second straight day, which prompted the authorities to take “air emergency” action. Schools in Delhi and adjoining cities were ordered shut till Friday while CM Arvind Kejriwal said he would consider extending the odd-even scheme beyond November 15.
