GHMC chief, officials can't sleep on duty: HC

Driving home a stern message to officials allowing encroachers to turn Hyderabad into a chaotic city with illegal constructions, the Telangana high court on Friday said that GHMC chief Lokesh Kumar and his staff could not be permitted to sleep on the job while entrusting municipal administration principal secretary Arvind Kumar the responsibility of ensuring that civic staff stayed awake and did their duty. It also directed both senior officials to be in court on March 24 to explain the reasons for official inaction.
