Lockdown in Noida: No job, transport, workers begin long trudge home

In the few hours between the announcement of the lockdown and the moment it kicked in, there was a scramble. Gig workers and daily wagers knew there would be no work for over a week. So they headed home, or tried to. Having travelled — and in many cases walked — some 20-30km, they found they could go no further than the Zero Point on the Yamuna Expressway. The borders were shut. They were too late.
