Hundreds homeless as DDA razes shanties

Delhi Development Authority (DDA) on Thursday demolished illegal slums built on the Yamuna floodplain at the edge of Batla House dhobi ghat in Okhla. Nearly a thousand slum dwellers became homeless after bulldozers and earthmovers cleared over 2.5 acres of encroached land on the directions of National Green Tribunal.
