Rod pierces man, taken out after 2-hour surgery

A 22-year-old man, who fell off his bike on an under-construction road after being hit by a truck and got pierced by a 16cm long iron rod, was saved after a two-hour-long surgery. Doctors at Yashoda Hospital in Nehru Nagar, where the man was taken to after the accident, used the thoracotomy technique to save him.
