Sept-Oct fests boost liquor sales in Karnataka

A steep increase in state excise duty on Indian Made Liquor (IML) as well as rising Covid-19 cases resulted in a major fall in consumption in Karnataka. The recent Ganesha and Dasara festivals, ongoing IPL tournament and Halloween celebrations brought back smiles to liquor merchants. They now hope to make up their losses with bumper Diwali sales.
