New Delhi Municipal Council was placed first among 60 municipality bodies in the Municipal Performance Index (MPI) 2020. ​​​This is a survey conducted by the Union housing and urban affairs ministry to judge the overall performance of municipalities on the five parameters of services, finance, planning, technology and governance.
