Bombay HC acquits man given death in ’12 rape-murder

Setting aside the conviction and death sentence awarded to a man in a 2012 gangrape-murder case by a Thane sessions court in 2017, the Bombay high court said that the trial was conducted without checking whether legal aid provided to the accused was competent.
