SC laments trust deficit as Param Bir seeks case transfer

As former Mumbai police commissioner Param Bir Singh contended that the probe in criminal cases lodged against him be handed over from state police to the CBI, the Maharashtra government sought transfer of the probe against former state minister Anil Deshmukh from CBI to an SIT and the premier agency submitted that the state government is trying to jeopardise its investigations, the Supreme Court on Tuesday expressed deep concern over the trust deficit among the institutions, calling it a "very disturbing scenario".
