3 in 1: New bill silent on Delhi corporations funding

Amid vociferous protests, the central government introduced a bill in the Lok Sabha on Friday that seeks to merge the three municipal corporations of Delhi into a single entity. The MPs opposing the move argued that it was not Parliament’s prerogative to render the capital’s municipal bodies into a singular entity when its trifurcation had been legislated by Delhi Assembly.
