Diesel generator sets in Delhi-NCR will soon come under a tighter emission control regime. The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) has proposed to reduce pollution from diesel gensets in the region under a three-pronged strategy - scrap gensets older than 15 years, make it mandatory for gensets with a capacity of up to 800kW to be retrofitted with emission control devices, and impose a tighter emission cap on new gensets that will have to pass a test at the manufacturing facility.
