
The city did not record a single heatwave day in April in the past three years, but a heatwave is likely to sweep the region from April 5 this year. India Meteorological Department has predicted that the days are likely to get hotter than normal. Four weather stations in the capital recorded heatwave to severe heatwave conditions on Saturday. Safdarjung, which is the city’s base station, is, however, yet to record a heatwave so far this season.
