Maha RS elections: Sena issues whip to its MLAs

As BJP and Shiv Sena prepare to slug it out for a Rajya Sabha seat from Maharashtra, both parties are trying to secure support and guard their flock. Sena, which is looking to send spokesman Sanjay Raut and Kolhapur veteran Sanjay Pawar to the upper house, issued a whip to all its MLAs asking them to remain present for voting on Friday. The BJP, which has named Piyush Goyal, Anil Bonde and Dhananjay Mahadik as its nominees, has planned a meeting on Thursday to fine-tune its strategy.
