Elgar Parishad case: Teltumbde granted bail by HC
Holding that based on the case record at this pre-trial stage, it cannot be concluded that Dalit rights activist Anand Teltumbde, 73, had indulged in a terrorist act, the Bombay high court granted him bail in the Elgar Parishad case on Friday. It is the first bail on merit given in the 2018 case. The HC, however, stayed its order by a week on a request from NIA counsel Sandesh Patil as the agency plans to move the Supreme Court against the bail.
