Murder that wasn’t, of a twin who wasn’t

Jaswinder Singh wanted to live the American dream. But being an Indian, the 26-year-old had to find a way to first get to the United States. He decided on a devious shortcut. Singh created an imaginary twin brother resident in the US, killed him off and then sought a visa to attend his funeral. He planned to use the documents made for his ‘twin’ for his own and start living in the country of his dream. The only drawback in his plan was his underestimation of the scrutiny the US embassy would subject his visa application to.
