
The Nizam of Hyderabad, Mukarram Jah, inherited a vast wealth from his paternal and maternal families. He was coronated on April 6, 1967, and first signed an order after coronation was lifetime appointment of a Hindu and Muslim priest to pray for the gaddi (throne). He married five times, but lost a large part of his wealth in divorce settlements.
