20k cops on bandobast duty in Mumbai today; Thane, Navi Mum police on their toes too

Thousands of police personnel will be deployed in Mumbai, Thane, and Navi Mumbai for the Ganeshotsav festival and Eid-e-Milad processions. In Mumbai, 20,000 police personnel will be stationed across the city, along with State Reserve Police force, Rapid Action Force, Quick Response Team commandos, and home guards. Thane City Police will deploy over 3,700 personnel across its five zones, while other parts of Thane district will have around 18,000 personnel on duty. Temporary control rooms and CCTV cameras will be set up to monitor the crowds.
