
The Delhi government is considering the idea of artificial rain to combat pollution in the winter, but experts say the necessary conditions for cloud seeding remain the same as they were two years ago when the idea was shelved. Cloud seeding requires atmospheric moisture, which is lacking in Delhi during the winter. While IIT-Kanpur experimented with cloud seeding in June, the technology's limitations due to weather conditions led to its abandonment. However, IIT-Kanpur still supports cloud seeding as a technological advancement and believes it could be beneficial for India.
