Delhi Police can fill up 13k posts by July
Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena has approved the filling of 13,013 vacancies in the Delhi Police by July 2024, with 3,521 to be filled by December this year. The vacancies include positions for head constables, technical roles, and multi-tasking staff. The move follows instructions from Union Home Minister Amit Shah and aims to address the staff shortage in the Delhi Police, which had 13,525 vacant positions earlier this year. A parliamentary panel has recommended the completion of the hiring process within a set deadline and the establishment of better cooperation between Delhi Police and surrounding state police forces.
