Min: JJ's lab shut, patients seeking angio sent away

Medical education minister Hasan Mushrif acknowledged that the catheterisation laboratory at JJ Hospital is not operational, causing patients needing angioplasty and angiography to be sent to other hospitals. The delay in procurement of new cath lab units by Haffkine Biopharmaceutical Corporation has led to the medical education department ordering new cath labs from the District Planning and Development Council funds. Congress MLA Amin Patel also highlighted the poor facilities at JJ Hospital, including a shortage of basic medicines and lack of ventilators and incubators for newborns.
