Maharashtra 60% short of booze sale target

A fresh shock is in store for the cash-strapped state government as the excise department will be unable to achieve its target of mobilizing Rs 19,225 crore by the end of the financial year due to a sharp fall in consumption of country, Indian-made foreign liquor, beer and wine, as well as closure of liquor shops for a prolonged period due to Covid-19.
