City sees third-highest Oct temp in a decade
Mumbai experienced its highest day temperature of the season, reaching 37.4 degrees Celsius on Saturday. This is the third-highest day temperature recorded in October in the past decade. Weather officials attribute the rise in temperatures to delayed sea breeze and the formation of Cyclone Tej in the Arabian Sea, which further delays the sea breeze. The Indian Meteorological Department predicts dry weather conditions for the next week. Independent forecaster Abhijit Modak explains that the persistent anti-cyclone over north-west Gujarat and the delayed onset of the sea breeze contributed to the rise in temperatures.
