Ward officers: May take 2 wks to execute anti-pollution rules at construction sites
The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has issued new air quality guidelines for construction sites in Mumbai. However, ward officers have cautioned that it will take at least two weeks for the mandated safety measures to be implemented. They will focus on sensitizing construction site operators this week before enforcing the rules. Some ward officers have already sent warning letters to construction sites, urging them to undertake dust-mitigation measures. The guidelines include installing iron barricades, CCTV cameras, sprinkler systems, and anti-smog guns, as well as conducting daily inspections and issuing stop-work notices for violations.
